I want to know the parameters and make good use of them. Can you give me a detailed explanation of them?
Generally, video quality is related to the video size, the higher the quality is, the larger the video size is going to be. Audio quality is the same.
Video codec and Audio codec are key to how the video is going to be encoded with, e.g. you have selected video codec as WMV8, audio codec is WMA2, and the output format is Zune WMV, then you will get a WMV file with video codec of WMV8 and audio codec of WMA2. If you have selected video codec as WMV7, audio codec is WMA2, and then the output file will be WMV with WMV7 and WMA2 as video and audio codecs respectively.
Resolution is related to the image size with the unit of pixel, generally in ppi (Pixel per inch). The higher the resolution is, the larger the video size is.
Channel is a concept related to the audio. It is with two types of stereo and mono with the respective aural feelings.
Frame rate (fps, frame per second) is related to the video visual effect. The higher the frame rate is the smoother and more vivid the animation will be. However, frame rate adjustment over 75fps will be not that obvious.
Sample rate is to decide the sound connection point, which is related with the audio continuity.
Aspect ratio is the ratio of video width and height.
Is the volume for the output video?
Yes, the Volume Option is for the output video.
I want to backup the videos on my computer and play them with computer software. How to set to make the video smallest in size, while keeping the quality?
Generally, AVI is the best choice, as it is supported by all computer software. The default video codec for the program is the DivX, which can help to shrink the video size, while maintaining the video quality.
What if I convert the same file with the same output format in the same output folder?
The program will generate the output videos in the same folder, with names listed by numbers, e.g. video.avi, video_0.avi, video_1.avi, video_2.avi, etc.
I’ve got a generated AVI/DivX with the program. When I play it in the Windows Media Player, I get only sound but no video, what am I doing wrong here? The player tells that I should download certain codec, what codec do I need?
It’s because you don not have the DivX codec installed on your computer, please download DivX codec from http://www.aone-soft.com/divx511.exe for free. After the installation, Windows Media Player will be able to play AVI files produced by our program.
After I convert my video files to PSP, what should I do to get the output files transferred to my PSP properly so that I can watch the movie on it? Do I need to rename them?
You don’t have to rename the file, as the program has done that for you. Connect your PSP to the PC with USB cable. Open your PSP, and create a new folder in the root directory named MP_ROOT. Then make a folder called 100MNV01 in there. So your .MP4 files should go into E:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01, where E:\ is the drive letter of your Memory Stick. This MP_ROOT directory structure is directly cribbed from Sony's UX/VZ Clie PDA series, which also plays MPEG-4 videos. Copy and past your video into the folder is OK.
OK, go back to the main interface of PSP, select “VIDEO>Memory Stick”, then it will start playing. It is easy play the video, and press the △ button the video details will be shown.
How can I put the output video onto my iPod?
Do you have iTunes installed? It is a must. Please download it from www.apple.com. Drag the video to your iTunes or add the file to the iTunes library will be OK.
When I watch the output files on my iPod, every certain minutes, the video would freeze for a couple of seconds, and then the audio will disappear when the playback resumes. I have to rewind the iPod to get the audio again. Why? It does not happen on iTunes and QuickTime.
Please check which firmware of iPod you are using. If it is in V1.1, you would have such problem. Please upgrade its firmware to V1.1.1 released on Mar 23 2006 by Apple from http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/. After that, the playback will be smooth on your iPod.
I have successfully converted some files to AVI format. However when I watch them on my PC, I always see a DivX logo at the bottom of the playback screen. Is it possible to avoid it?
The default video codec for AVI output in our program is DivX. Therefore you will see such a logo during the playback. If you do not like it, please select "Xvid" as the video codec on the main interface. We provide "XviD Movie (*.AVI)" output, which will also assure an excellent AVI output.
